Absolutely beautiful dogs. Really like "Bucky" I knew the charles McConnell's back in the 70's and early 80's. Cavalier Kennel. They were considered "Quibbletown West" I used to beat the pants off of Cavalier One Eyed Jack all the time with Ch Karolaska Forty Niner! I was fortunate enough to watch Gene Hanlen handle "Kip" to many BOB's etc. A beautiful tribute to the Smith's. I got into the breed in Alaska with the Karolaska Kennel. As you know they had top Quibbletown foundation dogs. Gosh your babies are nice!Great Website. The Best!

I have a pyrenees by the name of Shelby, she has been a big part of my life since she was 4 months old, She is now 3 yrs. old. My son and I live out in the country and she loves to roam the land, she has even been adopted by the neighbor cattle. She sits with them all day until I get home and then runs up to the house and waits for me to drive up. She is one of the kindest dogs I have ever owned. I tell her all the time that I hope she knows that we love her very much and are happy to have her in our lives. Just thought I would share my Shelby with you.

I have a Great Pyrenees named Makita. She is 3 years old and we have had her since April of 2001. We adopted her when she was about 7 months old from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. Adopting her was our blessing from heaven. She is smart, loving funny and beautiful. I would trust her to lay down her life for us, and we would do the same for her. Anyone that is looking for loyality and love... with alot of upkeep, please consider this breed... you will never be sorry for the decision.

We got this 10 pound 10 week old puppy from CAPS with a 1-1/2 yr domestic longhair, also 10 pounds, with a broken tooth and a 90 degree bent tail. As they seemed to get along at CAPS we took them both in. The puppy was described as a Keeshorn mix - yet had no colors or manner or look of the Keeshound. Instead, it had all the characteristics and looks of the PYR - giant, mostly white with brown patches, gentle, independant, but real laid back and cool. Gets along well with Teddy, the cat. She, Casey, is now 6 years, walks twice daily in our local park, insists on personally greeting each and every patron of the park, especially young children, is totally self-trained. Recently she had digestive disorder and was put on steroids. Boy, did that bulk her up. Now at 109 pounds. Trying to get her weight down now. She is unlike any of the numerous dogs we have enjoyed over the years. Would not trade her for anything. You have a magnificent site. Keep up the good work. Hal Kendall

In December, we had to put down our 13 yr. old G.P. Bo. He had emergency surgery for bloat and never completely recovered. Bo was the proudest dog. During our daily walks, if he spotted another dog he would go into this beautiful trot. He was loyal and affectionate, but not overly needy. I loved the way he would lean on you as he was getting hugged and petted. I miss my buddy and become emotional when I see another G.P. We have spotted a farm house that has had several puppies in the yard and just drive by to get our fill of cuteness. We hope to get another G.P., but just need a little more time.

Hello! Great Site,it is fantastic! I have been very interested in this breed for a long time now, but have never been allowed to own one since my parents didn't want a giant breed around, although I have owned large breed dogs for most of my life. Since I'm graduating next year, and will probably want a Pyr, within the next few years I decided to keep cramming my brain with knowledge, a long with looking for a reputable breeder, near my area. (which isn't easy! :o) Keep up the good work, if you'd like you can visit our dog page, and don't forget to sign my guestbook! Amanda

I really enjoyed your website. I had a Great Pyrenees about 3 years ago that I had to place when I remarried and moved to town with a small yard and low fence. My dog's name was Tiny Tim and he was a really large dog at 9 months when I had to place him. He went to a sheep and goat farm and I understand he is very happy as a guard dog. I drove by and saw him a few times but that was a bad experience for me and Tiny Tim. I really would like another one large and solid white like Tiny Tim.

Just to let you know how much I enjoyed browsing your websight. Mary Crane and her husband were friends of my father many many years ago in the Boston area. I remember as a young boy visiting their home in the Florida Keys and loving their 'white polar bear' dogs. Two decades later my wife and I purchased a beautiful female Great Pyrenees from Evelyn Nagle in Keene,N.H. It was then that I came to learn of Mary Crane's role in bringing Great Pyrenees to the United States. Little did I know as a young boy what a profound impact this breed would have on me later in my life. Our Great Pyrenees was without a doubt the most wonderful dog we have ever owned. We then lived in a remote location in a small rural hilltown in the Berkshires in Western MA and our dog Daisy (Mascoma's Mountain Daisy)was loved by everyone who came to know her. She passed away nine years ago at the age of 12. Friends and former neighbors still speak of her with such fondness and from time to time I meet people who tell me about their joyful encounters with her. Thank you for sharing your beautiful dogs and such great photoes. It does my heart glad. Paul Douglas

Recently we bought a puppy and are thinking about getting a companion for him. It seems like Pyrenees do enjoy each other's company! Thanks for sharing so many nice photographs.

im looking for a great pyreneese that is used to being around farm animals, and is old enough to protect them. we have a farm with chickens(that are dying out),miniature donkeys, llamas, and our 4 geese and 2 ducks were eaten. We're in a big rush to find some great pyreneese's before winter. please help!

I have got the puppy called Jessi. I would be so happy if you can send me some kind of information about Pyr. How much are they suppose to weigh at the age of 5 months, etc. Than you, Jana

I have a 5 year old Pyr named Angel. She is truly a wonderful family member. Don't you love the way they talk to you by their grunting sounds? Mine talks all the time. She's gentle with my kids and yet I feel protected when I'm alone. She's the best of "everything" rolled into one!

I absolutely loved following "the team" from tiny to adolescent. They are beautiful girls and it is a lot of fun watching them grow. This is an excellent site on pyrs.
