What beautiful puppies! I really enjoyed the pictures. Reminds me of Austin (my Pyr who is 9). I also have his mother who turned 14 in April. She has some problems getting around but is still very alert and ready to go, eat, or, of course, bark. It is a wonderful breed and they have brought me hours of happiness.

As usual I'm browsing! We currently own a 4year old Pyr "Baer" whom we aquired through the Northern Ca Rescue when he was 5 months old. He has stolen our hearts! I used to train and professionally handle shelties and have grown to love my larger companion and favor his temperament and size. We are interested in purchasing a puppy and would appreciate your requirements for placement etc. These guys are great!

Our family recently got our first Pyr,Akira, she's now 14 weeks and what a dog! We love this breed, and are now looking to rescue our next one. She's great with children (who else has that much energy), loves our other dogs, and her favorite pastime is 'herding' our cats. My only advice would be to have plenty of their 'own' toys. Much smarter than we ever could have imagined.

YOUR SITE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SO ENJOYABLE! Four weeks ago we adopted a 5 year old Pyrenees from the Humane Shelter. Her name was Huggies but she didn't know it. She had been found by the local athorities chained to a fence with no food, water or shelter. She had debris encrusted in both ears and a "hot spot" about the size of a football on her back which was badly infected, but my husband and I could see the beauty in those sad eyes. After spending three hours with her we decided we belonged to her. Straight to the groomers we went. It took them three hours to "pretty her up", which gave us time to go shopping for all of her supplies. When we picked her up at the groomers she was gorgeous, snow-white with just a hint of grey on her ears, and the groomers said they had fallen in love with her. The next day was spent at the Veterinarian where they cleaned out her infected ears, shaved her infected back and gave her two shots of antibiotics. She never complained once about any of the treatment, just stood and let them do anything they wanted. We went home with $180 worth of medicine and watched her heal and gain confidence by the day. She's very intelligent and so sweet that we immediately renamed her HONEY. This past month has been a joy. She's one of the family and stays in the house all the time. We were told she had never been house-broken but she's never once had an accident. We live by a park and she knows that's where she's taken 3 times a day. We have grandchildren ranging in age from 1yr. to 5yrs. and she's so gentle with them. She's also formed a special relationship with the 13yr. old boy next door. They go for long walks in the neighborhood where people stop and tell him how nice she is. I obedience trained dogs for 20 yrs. but, was not familiar with the breed until now. If they're all as sweet as HONEY, then the people who own Great Pyrenees are the luckiest people in the world!

We've had Pouncer since she was only a couple of weeks old. She was abandoned very young and my now ex-husband rescued her from some friends who could no longer keep her. He told me she was a Pekinese. HA! She was so small that she fit inside his leather jacket. He brought her into the bedroom and let her out on the bed where she 'pounced' on my feet over and over again through the blanket. About 2 months later he went on his 2 week training for the Reserves and she was great comfort because I was pregnant with my first child. When he came back she had grown . . . A LOT! I believe she isn't a pure breed (not that it matters to me) because she has large tan spots all over and I haven't found any pics with markings like hers. She looks like she almost has some St. Bernard in her or maybe some Chow! Thank you for the beautiful pics of your pups and for the info. We've had her for 6 years and I've never done any research until today! You were most helpful!

We just purchased our first Great Pyrenees this morning from a local pet store. We absolutely love her! She is a quarter Pit Bull; the only differences noticeable is that her hair is slightly shorter and her tail is only about 4 inches long. She's a sweetheart to everyone she meets and is very friendly. "Snowy" is 5 months old and is already very big! Thanks so much! We enjoyed your site! J.R. & Briann Pascal

I purchased a male whelp Pyr 9 years ago from a sheep rancher from Johnson City area. "Bear" has been my constant companion and friend since. As he has aged , he is in excellent health but is somewhat impaired by arthritis in hip. This has not stopped his readiness and eagerness to go for his morning and early evening walks..we just go slower and only half the distance of his earlier days. He is frienly to all we meet, always extending his head for petting from everyone of all ages. His temperament is so extra-nice. I have never had a pet that comes close to him in personality. But. his spirit is his; he will say no and he will be persistent. I know when I no longer have "Bear", I will look for another of his breed!

Just want to thank you for the great pictures. I had 2 pyrenees until this morning. Our dogs were goat guardians and our female, Sadie is an escape artist. She got out and lead Sam our male out. I had recently shaved the dogs and neighbor shot Sam about 3am before he realized he was our dog. Sadie got away but hasn't come home yet. I didn't have any good pictures of Sadie or Sam so I copied Rockys picture to put on a lost dog poster. Sadie looks alot like him. Thanks again for the pictures. Kathy Griffin

We are looking forward to our 1st Great Pyrenees puppy! The Snowbear site has soooo many beautiful pictures and so much great information. We can't wait until our puppy comes next month. Thanks for so much information on the site. Gail and Michael
