Great Pyrenees history in the United States was established by the importations and breeding of Basquaerie in the 1930s, as well as the subsequent rise and establishment of the outstanding kennels of Cote de Neige and Quibbletown.
Mary Crane's importation philosophy, in brief, was to import a diverse representation of the French bloodlines from which other kennels could use as foundation stock or breeding stock.
